Getting Started: A Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Confirm Your Shopify Locations in ShipHero
Ensure your Shopify locations are correctly added and recognized in ShipHero.
- Go to My Account > Stores.
- Click Settings, then navigate to the Locations tab.
- If your locations are not showing, click Sync Locations.
Note for 3PLs: To view Shopify location information and sync, you must be signed into the client account.
Step 2: Enable the Automation Rules Feature Flag
Turn on the setting that allows Automation Rules to work with Shopify Locations.
- Go to the Store Settings page.
- Check "Save Item Fulfillment Location When Importing Orders."
- Click Save.
Important
Enabling this feature will increase your Shopify API usage. Only turn this on if you plan to actively use these automation rules.
Step 3: Create Your Automation Rules
Set up your automation rules before any new orders are imported into ShipHero.
- Go to Orders > Automation Rules.
- Click "Add Automation Rule."
- Select the Shopify Item Assigned to Location trigger, the required condition, and the location from the drop-downs.
- Configure the Action as needed.
If using the Lock to Warehouse action with MWA (Multi-Warehouse Allocation) enabled, continue to Step 4.
Step 4: Configure for Multi-Warehouse Allocation (If Applicable)
If you use the Lock to Warehouse action and have MWA enabled, an MWA rule is required to hold the warehouse assignment — otherwise, your existing MWA rules may override it.
- Go to the MW Allocation page.
- Click Create New Rule.
- Set your conditions, and in the Actions, select Allocate and Backorder to Locked Warehouse.
