How to Prevent Invalid Shipping Dimensions

Ensuring valid package dimensions are submitted to carriers during the label creation process will help prevent unexpected carrier surcharges, reducing cost per package and packer errors while protecting profit margins. Notify a packer of invalid package dimensions that are being submitted by enabling the "Prevent Invalid Shipping Dimensions" setting.

How Does Prevent Invalid Shipping Dimensions Work

When this setting is enabled, if ALL the dimensions for a package are 1 in or below 1 in when requesting a carrier label, ShipHero will prompt the packer to correct the dimensions used. This prompt is not triggered for generic labels.

For example, this package had the dimensions 0.1 x 0.1 x 0.1 entered. When the print label button was selected, the following error was received for the packer to correct the dimensions enetered.

How to Enable Prevent Invalid Shipping Dimensions

  1. Go to app.shiphero.com> My Account> Settings.
  2. Click on the App Settings option on the left-hand side menu.
  3. Scroll to the option "Enable Packaging Recommendations" and check the box next to it.
  4. Hit "Save Changes."
