How to Configure Currency Settings in ShipHero

ShipHero's default currency for your account is set to United States Dollar (USD). You have the option to update this currency at the account level or through specialized automation rules for multi-currency environments.

ShipHero does not automatically calculate currency differences. The system updates the currency symbol only. We rely on the numerical value provided by your store platform to determine the currency amount.

Understanding Currency Logic in ShipHero

To ensure accurate financial tracking, your ShipHero currency settings must match the currency used on your store platform. ShipHero does not perform real-time exchange rate conversions.

Example Scenario:
If your store sells products in USD, but your ShipHero currency is set to CAD, the system will not recalculate the USD value into CAD. It will simply display the USD numerical value with a CAD symbol.

Multi-Store Scenario:
If you operate separate stores in different regions (e.g., United States and New Zealand), an automation rule is required to ensure the currency is assigned correctly to orders originating from each specific platform.

How to Set Your Currency Type in Account Settings

Follow these steps to update the default currency for your entire ShipHero account:

  1. Log into ShipHero.  Navigate to My Account > Settings.
  2. On the Settings page, locate the General Preferences column on the right-hand side.  Scroll down to Currency.

  3. Select the appropriate currency from the dropdown menu.

How to Set Currency Type via Automation Rules

If your business workflow requires the use of multiple currencies across different stores or regions, the currency type must be managed via an automation rule. This ensures the correct currency symbol is applied based on the order source.
