The Packer Performance Dashboard provides actionable insights into improve warehouse efficiency. This guide explains how to analyze packer metrics to improve operational throughput and identify training opportunities.
Requirements
- Your account must be a 3PL or Brand; not available for 3PL Clients.
- The warehouse team must use the ShipHero packing process.
- WorkforceHero must be enabled on your account.
ACTIVATION REQUIRED: Please contact ShipHero Support to enable this feature. To generate accurate benchmarks, ShipHero requires two weeks of data collection, after receiving the inital request to enable, before the Performance Dashboard can be made visible in your account.

Understanding the Packer Score
The Score metric benchmarks a packer's speed against the expected time for specific order profiles. This allows warehouse managers to evaluate efficiency regardless of order complexity.
| Score Value | Performance Meaning |
| Score of 5 | The order was packed exactly within the expected time. |
| Above 5 | The packer was faster than the benchmark. A score of 10 indicates the packer was twice as fast as expected. |
| Below 5 | The packer was slower than the benchmark. A score of 0 indicates the packer took at least twice as long as expected. |
Expected times are calculated based on historical data and the specific attributes of the order being processed.
Navigating the Packer Performance Dashboard
To access the Packer Performance Dashboard go the Workforce Hero > Performance page on the shipping.shiphero.com platform.
Available Packer Performance Filters
To focus on specific operational data, use the filtering options located at the top of the dashboard. These tools allow you to isolate performance metrics by time, team, or individual roles.
| Filter Option | Description/Action |
| Packers < 30min | Toggle this to hide or show packers with less than 30 minutes of total packing time. This prevents low-volume data from skewing overall warehouse averages. |
| Position | Filter results by job title, such as Associate or Manager. Position can be assigned/changed in a user's settings. |
| Team Members | Filter the view by specific assigned teams within the warehouse. |
| Shift | Isolate data based on the specific warehouse shift. |
| Date | Select Today or a custom Date Range to view performance over a specific period. |
NOTE: Changes to filters will not be reflected in the dashboard until you click Apply to confirm your selection.
Packer Performance Dashboard Columns Defined
The primary view offers a high-level summary of your team's packing activity and productivity scores, each row representing each packer.
Change which columns are displayed by editing the column visibility. Open the Columns menu in the top right-hand corner, check the columns you want to show and uncheck the columns you want to hide.
| Column | Description |
| Packer | The name of the warehouse operator. |
| Position | The assigned job title (e.g., Associate, Manager). |
| Shipments | Total volume of orders packed in the selected timeframe. |
| Units | Total volume of individual item packed in the selected timeframe |
| Clocked Time |
Total time the user is clocked into the Packing task through WorkforceHero. Don't use WorkforceHero for task management? The system will rely on autodetection of tasks. |
| Recorded Time | Actual time spent actively packing orders in ShipHero. |
| Productivity | Percentage of Recorded Time vs. Clocked Time. |
| Score | An objective 0-10 score comparing packer speed against historical averages for identical orders. |
Viewing a Packer's Performance Score Summary
Clicking an individual packer's name will open the packer's Score Summary displaying detailed performance metrics for the selected period. These metrics provide a granular view of output and labor efficiency.
| Metric Name | Description/Action |
| Performance Bar | A visual indicator displaying the packer's overall performance score relative to warehouse benchmarks. |
| Shipments | The total quantity of completed shipments packed within the selected time frame. |
| Units | The total number of individual items processed and packed within the selected time frame. |
| Productivity | A percentage calculated by comparing the packer's recorded packing time against their total clock time. |
| Averages | A comparative status indicating if shipment data is Better, Average, or Worse than standard benchmarks. Orders will be grouped under Not Available if prior data is insufficient cor comparison. |
Packer's Performance by Order
To view the specific transactions contributing to a packer's metrics, click View Orders in the upper right corner of the side panel. This detailed view provides granular data for every order processed during the selected timeframe.
| Order Detail Field | Description/Action |
| Units | The total quantity of individual items contained within the specific order. |
| Packing Date | The exact timestamp when the order was completed by the packer. |
| Productivity Score | The specific efficiency rating calculated for that individual order. |
| Expected Time | The benchmark duration (in minutes/seconds) established for an order with this specific profile. |
Reviewing the Expected Time against the Productivity Score allows managers to identify if specific order types (e.g., high-unit counts or fragile items) are consistently impacting packer speed.

Utilizing the Packer Dashboard Data: Operational Tips
Utilize the gathered metrics to identify operational bottlenecks and implement targeted improvements. Data-driven decision-making ensures warehouse resources are allocated effectively to maximize throughput.
- Performance Recognition: Identify packer consistently performing above the 5.0 benchmark to celebrate individual wins and undersatnd if their practices can be replicated to other packers.
- Performance Remediation: Identify packers consistently performing below the 5.0 score benchmark to provide targeted training on specific order profiles.
- Labor Utilization: Compare Clocked Time against Recorded Time. Large discrepancies indicate opportunities to optimize login/logout workflows or station transitions.
- Workflow Optimization: Review station ergonomics and layouts for top performers. Replicate efficient physical setups across the warehouse to standardize speed.
- Strategic Assignment: Shift team members to order types that match their demonstrated strengths (e.g., assigning fast, precise packers to high-piece-count orders).
Performance Mangement Best Practices
Effective performance management requires regular consultation with the packing team to align system data with real-world feedback from the warehouse floor.
- Trend Monitoring: Review the dashboard daily or weekly to detect emerging performance trends before they impact SLAs.
- Goal Setting: Use historical performance averages to set achievable targets for new and existing staff.
