WorkforceHero Overview
WorkforceHero provides an easy-to-read dashboard that lets managers see which jobs each worker is assigned to. From the Workforce Dashboard, a manager can:
- Assign workers to a job and move workers between activities.
- View all workers and what jobs they are currently working on.
- View, hide, and create jobs.
Workers can clock into a job, clock out for a break, and track their time on task using the kiosk.
How to Access WorkforceHero
To access the WorkforceHero Dashboard, go to WorkforceHero > Live View on the New & Updated Features platform.
WorkforceHero Permissions
WorkforceHero has its own permission set in ShipHero. Users must have WorkforceHero permissions assigned to their role to access the WorkforceHero Dashboard and to view, create, edit, or delete data within WorkforceHero. When WorkforceHero permissions are enabled for a role, all employees assigned to that role inherit the same permissions.
WorkforceHero permissions are not required for employees to use the WorkforceHero kiosk when clocking in and out of tasks or paid breaks and lunches. For more details on managing users and roles, see the Users, Roles and Permissions article.
To set WorkforceHero permissions for a role:
- Go to the Users & Roles page and open the Roles tab.
- Find the role you want to update and click into the role details.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the WorkforceHero permissions section (listed alphabetically). Select the appropriate access level: View, Create, Edit, or Delete.
How to Set Up WorkforceHero
Before your team can use WorkforceHero, print employee badges and set up a kiosk station. The recommended hardware for this setup is:
Printing WorkforceHero Employee Badges
Each employee needs a printed badge with a barcode they can scan at the kiosk to clock in and out. To print a badge, go to the team member's details page and click Print Badge.
The WorkforceHero Kiosk
Once badges are printed, employees can scan their badge at the kiosk to sign into a job, take a break, or go to lunch. To open the WorkforceHero Kiosk, go to the WorkforceHero > Kiosk page.
WorkforceHero Auto-Detected Jobs
The following jobs are tracked automatically by WorkforceHero — no manual setup required:
