The Picker Performance Dashboard provides data-driven insights into warehouse floor operations for ShipHero users utilizing AI Picking. This tool uses machine learning and real-time warehouse mapping to analyze movement data, helping managers identify top performers and optimize labor costs.
Purpose of the Dashboard
In warehouse operations, travel time is a significant operational cost. This dashboard compares actual picking performance against an AI-estimated baseline tailored to your specific warehouse map. This provides an objective measurement of productivity to refine WMS workflows.

Understanding the Picker Score
The centerpiece of the dashboard is the Score (0-10). Unlike traditional metrics based solely on units per hour, the AI model evaluates the complexity of every individual batch.
AI Expected Time Calculation
The system utilizes a LightGBM Machine Learning model that analyzes over 60 batch features, including:
- Walking Distance: Calculated based on the specific warehouse map.
- Batch Type: Categorized as Multi-Item Batch (MIB) or Single-Item Batch (SIB).
- Complexity: The quantity of unique locations and total units within the pick.
- Historical Data: Two months of data from mapped warehouses to establish a realistic baseline.
The Scoring Scale
| Score | Performance Meaning |
| 10 | Picker completed the task twice as fast as the AI expected. |
| 5 | Picker completed the task exactly as expected. |
| 0 | Picker took twice as long as the AI expected. |
Key Metrics to Track
The dashboard provides a high-level summary and a detailed "drawer" view to help you drill down into specific behaviors.
Clocked Time vs. Recorded Time
- Clocked Time: Total shift duration imported from WorkforceHero.
- Recorded Time: Active time spent engaged in picking batches.
- Productivity %: Calculated as Recorded Time divided by Clocked Time. This represents the percentage of a shift spent on revenue-generating activities.
Transition Time
This metric measures the duration between the completion of one batch and the start of the next. High transition times may indicate equipment delays, congestion, or depot bottlenecks.
Note: Transition time does not lower the picker’s individual batch score; it is a separate metric used to identify workflow bottlenecks.
Pro-Tip: Identifying "Invisible" Bottlenecks
Use the Transition Time metric in tandem with the Score. If a picker has a high Score (they pick very fast) but low Productivity (they spend a lot of time in transition), they aren't the problem—your workflow is. This usually means they are waiting too long for new batches to be assigned or there is a bottleneck at the packing station. Addressing these "gaps" is often the fastest way to increase your total warehouse throughput.
Navigating the Main Performance Dashboard
To access the Picker Performance Dashboard, go to the Workforce Hero > Performance page and select the Pickers (MiB & SiB) tab.
Main Performance Dashboard Filters
To refine your data, you can use the following filters:
- Position: Filter by specific worker roles, created and managed from the users' settings pages.
- Team Members: Select specific workers to view.
- Shift: Filter results by specific work shifts created in Workforce Hero.
- Date Range: Select from preset ranges (Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, etc.) or set a custom range.
Main Performance Dashboard Columns Defined
The primary view offers a high-level summary of your team's picking activity and productivity scores, each row representing each picker. Change which columns are displayed by editing the column visibility. Open the Columns menu in the top right-hand corner, check the columns you want to show and uncheck the columns you want to hide.
| Feature / Column | Description |
| Worker | The name and information of the picker, pulled from the user's settings. |
| Position | The worker's assigned role or position, managed in the user's settings. |
| Batches | Total number of batches completed. |
| Orders | Total number of orders picked. |
| Units | Total number of individual units picked. |
| Clocked Time | The total duration the user was clocked into the picking system. |
| Recorded Time | The actual time spent performing picking activities. |
| Inactivity Warning Time | Total time a user was alerted for inactivity. |
| Transition Time | The time elapsed between the end of one batch and the start of the next. |
| Productivity | The percentage of recorded picking time versus total clocked time. |
| Score | The overall calculated performance score. |
Navigating the Picker Detail View
The Detail View allows you to dive deep into an individual picker's performance by examining specific batches. The detailed picker preformance view can be filtered by Date. Change which columns are displayed by editing the column visibility. Open the Columns menu in the top right-hand corner, check the columns you want to show and uncheck the columns you want to hide.
To Access the Picker Detail View:
- Click the name of the picker you need more information on, this opens a side window with their Score summary defined further.
- Then select the View batches button, this opens the Picker's Detailed view.
- The detailed view of the picker pperformance dahsboard groups all the batches for each day into a single line item. Select the down arrow next to the date to see metrics for each specific batch completed that day.
Picker Detail View Columns Defined

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why are some batches un-scored? A score is omitted if a batch is too short, has insufficient locations, or involves unmapped warehouse areas where distance cannot be accurately calculated.
- How should I evaluate AI accuracy? The AI provides an estimate based on distance and historical trends. It is recommended to evaluate a picker’s average score over a one-week period rather than individual batches.
