The system determines which address to print on a shipping label based on your account type. Below is the breakdown of how ShipHero resolves your shipping identity.
For Brand and Merchant Accounts
If you are a direct merchant, ShipHero identifies the Warehouse Profile associated with your order. The system checks for a profile that matches the specific Order Profile ID and the Warehouse Identifier.
- Match Found: The label prints the sender name and contact details saved in that specific profile.
- No Match: The system defaults to the primary address of the physical warehouse.
This allows you to use different sender names for different store integrations, such as a Shopify store versus an Amazon shop, even if they ship from the same physical building.
For 3PL and 3PL Client Accounts
For 3PLs, shipping labels are controlled through specific settings. This allows you to customize how your clients appear to their customers without the manual work of building unique profiles for every integration.
Default From Address
By default, ShipHero uses a hybrid of Client and 3PL data to ensure the correct branding is presented while maintaining accurate physical shipping locations.
This is the most efficient way for 3PLs to manage branding across multiple clients while keeping warehouse operations centralized.
| Label Field | Data Source |
| From Name | The Client's Name as listed on the 3PL Customers page. |
| From Address | The address of the Physical Warehouse from which the order shipped. |
| Phone Number | The Client Profile phone number. If empty, the system uses the Physical Warehouse phone number. |
Using the 3PL Client's From Address White Labeling
To fully white label the shipping process, you can enable the Use Customer Profile Info setting. This replaces the 3PL's physical address with the Client's business address on the label.
IMPORTANT: This setting can only be enabled for your clients with the assistance of ShipHero Support.
- When ON: The label uses the Client profile address. The package appears to come directly from the client.
- When OFF: The label defaults to 3PL information.
Critical Considerations for Address Overrides
Enabling the address override significantly changes how carrier services interact with your shipments. Please review the following:
- Carrier Quoting: Changing the "From Address" changes the physical origin point sent to carriers. This will impact shipping rates and transit time calculations.
- Carrier Manifests: Because the address on the label differs from the primary address on the carrier account, you must create a separate manifest for each client that has this setting enabled. Failure to do so may cause pickup issues with carriers.
