ShipHero Putaway V2 provides advanced control over floor operations, allowing for precise management of complex inventory movements.

Key Enhancements in Putaway V2

1. LPN Support and Nesting
Putaway V2 introduces comprehensive License Plate Number (LPN) support. This allows operators to scan a single barcode to move an entire pallet or container.

• LPN Nesting: Move multiple sub-containers within a larger pallet as a single unit.
• LPN Unpacking: Unlike previous versions, you can unpack specific items from an LPN directly during the putaway process.

2. Specialized Handling and Unit of Measure (UOM) Support
Managing different units, such as individual items versus cases, is streamlined in V2.

• Dedicated UOM Screen: A specific interface handles various Units of Measure to reduce quantity errors.
• Unique ID Filtering: V2 uses Unique IDs to distinguish between different batches of the same SKU across multiple locations.

3. Real-Time Visibility
V2 provides immediate feedback on task progress.

• Completion Screens: A dedicated screen confirms all items were moved correctly upon task completion.
• Summary Tracking: Operators can access a comprehensive list of all moved inventory during the session.

Feature Comparison: Putaway V1 vs. Putaway V2

ShipHero Putaway V2 introduces significant upgrades to warehouse inventory management, offering enhanced tracking, better data integrity, and real-time visibility compared to the legacy V1 system.

Moving to Putaway V2 is recommended for warehouses handling high-volume LPN movements or complex Units of Measure (UOM) to ensure maximum inventory accuracy.

Building Your Putaway List (Draft Mode)

Before moving physical stock, you must create a Draft List. This acts as your digital manifest of items that require a new location.

1. Navigate to the Products > Putaway screen in the ShipHero Mobile App. 

2. Scan one of the following:

   Method	Description
   Scan an Item	A product barcode to identify its designated location.
   Scan a Case	A case barcode to move bulk quantities simultaneously.
   Scan a Location	A location barcode to move all items currently in that location.
   Scan a LPN	Scan a container ID to move everything inside that specific bin or pallet.

3. Select the Origin (Source location). When you scan an item or a case, ShipHero will prompt you to identify the Source Location. A popup will display all locations currently holding that SKU. Select the source location and confirm the quantity.
   • If you scan the Location Barcode, ShipHero automatically adds all items and LPNs in that location to your list. 
   • If you scan a LPN Barcode, the LPN is added to the list and the origin location will display the current location of an LPN.
4. Repeat until your draft list is complete. Then select Start Putaway.

Removing an Item/LPN from a Putaway Draft list

If you need to remove a LPN or item from the Putaway List, tap on the card and click on remove at the top right corner.

Executing the Transfer (In Progress)

Once your list is complete, select Start Putaway. The list is now locked, and you may begin the physical movement of stock.

Step-by-Step: Putaway loose stock (individual SKUs) 

1. Select the Item: Tap the item on your screen that you are currently moving.
2. Scan the Destination: Locate an empty bin or a primary picking location and scan its barcode. You can use filters to find Pickable or Sellable locations only.
3. Confirm Quantity: Scan the items as you place them in the bin, or select ALL to move the entire batch.
4. Save and Sync: ShipHero updates the inventory logs in real-time. A Green Check indicates the task is complete; an Orange Check indicates a partial movement.

Step-by-Step: Putaway LPNs 

When using the Putaway feature with LPNs you have several options on how to complete the invetory move. Follow the instrustuctions below:

1. Scan LPN barcode or Tap on LPN card to start its putaway. The app prompts you to Scan Destination for the LPN

2. Go to the destination Location or LPN and scan its barcode. A pop-up appears with transfer options; depending on the outcome you need select one of the following methods to transgfer the inventory/LPN

   • Method 1: Move an Entire LPN to a Destination Location
   • Method 2: Unpack loose items in the LPN at Destination Location
   • Method 3: Nest an Entire LPN in a Destination LPN 
   • Method 4: Transfer loose items from a LPN to a Destination LPN

Method 1: Move an Entire LPN to a Destination Location

1. After scanning the Destination Location barcode, to move the entire container with its contents, tap the “Transfer entire LPN” button.

2. On the Putaway summary tab you will see the performed action of moving the LPN to its new Location.

Method 2: Unpack an LPN at Destination Location

1. After scanning a Destination Location barcode, to unpack the items from the LPN into the location, the user taps on the “product details card”. This action takes you to the unpack items Screen.

2. Scan the item’s SKU barcode to set the amount of items of the SKU you want to unpack from LPN.

   • You can also set the amount manually by tapping on “Enter manually” option at the bottom.

   • If you wish to unpack all units of the SKU from LPN then you can tap on “Put away all units” option at the bottom.

3. On the Putaway summary tab you will see the performed action of unpacking items of an SKU from the LPN to their new Location.

Method 3: Nest an Entire LPN in a Destination LPN

1. After scanning a Destination LPN barcode, to nest the LPN into Destination LPN, tap the “Transfer entire LPN” button.

2. On the Putaway summary tab you will see the performed action of nesting the LPN into Destination LPN.

Method 4: Transfer items from a LPN to a Destination LPN

1. After scanning a Destination LPN barcode, to transfer loose items of a SKU from the LPN to the Destination LPN, tap on the “product details card”.

2. Scan the item’s SKU barcode to set the amount of items of the SKU you want to transfer from LPN

   • You can also set the amount manually by tapping on “Enter manually” option at the bottom

   • If you wish to transfer all units of the SKU from LPN then you can tap on “Put away all units” option at the bottom.

3. On the Putaway summary scrollable tab you will see the performed action of transferring items of an SKU from the LPN to another LPN.

Completing your Putaway List

Once all tasks on your list are complete, the app displays a "Ta-da, all done!" confirmation screen.

From here, you can choose to View putaway summary to review the movements you just completed or select Create a new putaway list to begin another task.
