Tap-to-Pack supports NTAG215 NFC badges for logging in to the Tap-to-Pack controller. Each badge is linked to a specific user account so the system accurately tracks who is performing packing operations. While badges are not included with the controller, any standard NTAG215 badge is compatible.
Prerequisites
- Badge Type: You must use an NTAG215 badge.
- Hardware: A mouse must be connected to the station to navigate the interface.
- Permissions: Your user account requires both View and Edit access for the Users permission.
- Connectivity: The station must be actively connected to a Tap-to-Pack controller.
You can program a badge from any station currently connected to a Tap-to-Pack controller.
How to Configure a Tap-to-Pack NFC Badge
- Navigate to Users: Open the ShipHero app on your station and go to the Users page.
- Locate User: Find the specific user you are activating in the list view.
- Initiate Activation: Click the printer icon located to the right of the user's name.
- Select Mode: Select the option labeled Activate NFC badge.
- Link Badge: When prompted by the system, hold the NTAG215 badge over the NFC reader on the connected Tap-to-Pack controller.

Did it work?
A successful NFC Badge activation is confirmed by a checkmark on the screen, displaying the user’s name and the PIN connected to that badge. If the activation fails, the system will prompt you to try again.

Usage and Troubleshooting
| Issue | Resolution |
| Badge not recognized | Verify the badge is NTAG215. Other NFC types are not supported. |
| Missing Activation option | Ensure you have View and Edit permissions for the Users page and that you are processing the request on a station with a Tap-to-Pack contoller connected. |
| No popup after tapping | Hold the badge flat against the reader for at least one full second. |
Once programmed, the user can tap their badge on any controller to log in to a packing station or use the Kiosk function.
