As a 3PL, you may purchase shipping labels for your customers using your own shipping carrier accounts and opt to include a fee on the purchased labels. This shipment fee may be a flat amount (such as 10 cents per label) or a percentage of the label cost (such as 5 percent per label).
This article will walk you through how to adjust these settings in ShipHero.

How to Give 3PL Clients Permission to View Label Costs
3PLs may permit clients to view the actual label cost or the marked-up label cost by following these steps:
- Access the 3PL Billing Menu.
- Select the customer you want to edit.
- On the right side of the screen, click the Change button, and a module will appear with various settings.
- You can scroll down to the Labels section and look for the dropdown menu.
You can select one of 4 options:
- No (default): Clients do not see any label costs other than on the generated bill. The bill will use the actual label cost and apply any markups at the time the bill is generated.
- Show Actual Cost: Clients can see the actual label costs for each order without any mark-ups. The bill will still apply mark-ups at the time the bill is generated. Mark-ups are not used when doing rate quoting.
- Show Marked-Up Cost: The label costs shown to the client includes any mark-ups defined in the shipping fees. This is calculated at the time the label is generated and does not change if the fees are modified after. The bill will show the marked-up cost and the mark-up is used when rate quoting.
- Use Marked-Up Cost, but Don't Show: Clients do not see any label costs other than on the generated bill. The bill will show the marked-up cost and the mark-up is used when rate quoting.
NOTE: ShipHero saves the marked up cost at ship time, so any subsequent changes to fees will not be reflected. If Show marked up cost is selected, the cost saved when the shipment is created cannot be changed, and the label will reflect that cost even if the fee is changed. This is for both Show marked up cost and Use marked up cost, but don't show.

NOTE: This does not change whether the shipment fee is assessed. This only alters whether a customer can see the original shipment cost prior to the shipment fee being assessed.
