As a 3PL, you may purchase shipping labels for your customers using your own shipping carrier accounts, and opt to include a fee on the purchased labels. This shipment fee may be a flat amount (such as 10 cents per label) or a percentage of the label cost (such as 5 percent per label).
ShipHero Default Settings
- 3PL customers will not see the label cost for a shipment until a bill is generated.
- Once a bill has been generated, the Shipment Fee is added to the Total Label Cost.
- Shipment details on the ShipHero dashboard do not show the label cost.

Give 3PL Clients Permission to View Label Costs
3PLs may give clients permission to view the actual label cost or the marked up label cost by following these steps:
- Access the 3PL Billing Menu.
- Select the customer you want to edit.
- On the right side of the screen, click the Change button and a module will appear with various settings.
- Scroll down to the Labels section and look for the dropdown menu. You can select one of three options:
- No: The default setting. 3PL clients do not see the original label cost.
- Show actual cost: Clients can see the label costs for each order without the assessed service fee.
- Show marked up cost: The label costs shown to the client include any markups defined in the shipping fees.
Note: ShipHero saves the marked up cost at ship time, so any subsequent changes to fees will not be reflected. If Show marked up cost is selected, the cost saved when the shipment is created cannot be changed, and the bill will reflect that cost even if the fee is changed.

Note: This does not change whether the shipment fee is assessed. This only alters whether a customer can see the original shipment cost prior to the shipment fee being assessed.
