How to Use "Is Virtual"

The Is Virtual setting allows you to sell digital downloads or on-demand products that do not require physical stock tracking. This feature ensures unlimited availability for a product on your sales channels.

When you enable Is Virtual on an SKU and set its On Hand value to 0, ShipHero automatically updates the availability on all connected Sales Channels to 9,999.
 

Virtual SKUs in Kits

If an SKU with Is Virtual enabled is part of a Kit, the Kit's availability is determined by the physical component with the lowest inventory level. Because virtual items are considered to have infinite stock, they do not limit the Kit's total availability.
 

Example: If Kit A contains a physical car (5 On Hand), a suit (90 On Hand), and a virtual digital manual, the Kit availability will be 5.

How to Enable "Is Virtual"

You can enable this setting for individual products or in bulk via the Inventory menu.

Individual SKU Update

1. Navigate to the top menu and click Inventory, then select Products.
2. Select the specific SKU you wish to edit.
3. Click the pencil icon to edit the product details.
4. Set the On Hand value to 0.
5. Select the Is Virtual checkbox.

Bulk Update

To update multiple products simultaneously, use the Bulk Edit tool. Set the column Virtual Product to 1 to enable the setting (0 disables the setting). For detailed instructions on this process, please refer to our Bulk Edit knowledge base article.
