ShipHero synchronizes data across all connected sales channels. When orders are placed, the data is sent to ShipHero. When orders are fulfilled, ShipHero pushes updated inventory availability back to each sales channel.
How Long Does It Take to Sync Orders & Inventory?
In most cases, data syncs between ShipHero and your connected sales channels within a minute or two. Sync times can increase during high-volume activity — such as bulk shipping many orders or updating a large number of SKUs at once.
API requests are throttled to prevent excessive volume from taking down the sales channel connection. Sending too many requests at once may cause some to fail.
Optimizing for High Volume Sales Days
Before a high-volume sales day, you can reduce the risk of throttling delays by temporarily disabling ShipHero inventory updates and letting Shopify manage inventory instead. This can be done per product or for your entire store.
Disable Inventory Management for a Specific Product
- Go to Inventory > Products.
- Select the Product SKU you want to update.
- Scroll to the Stores section and check Do Not Manage Inventory.
Disable Inventory Management for Your Entire Store
- Go to My Account > Stores and click Settings.
- On the right side of the page, under Sync Settings ShipHero to Shopify, uncheck Have ShipHero Manage my Shopify Inventory.
Remember to re-enable Have ShipHero Manage my Shopify Inventory once the sale is over so inventory numbers sync back up.
