ASSITANCE REQUIRED!! If you plan to share client with another 3PL who uses ShipHero as their WMS DO NOT create a new client account or invite the client to create one. ShipHero Support needs to configure your 3PL account with the existing client account on the backend.
Sometimes eCommerce Brands need to connect with multiple 3PLs to optimize their operations and ensure their end customer is provided the best experience. The most common reasons include:
- Expanding geographic reach and improving scalability.
- Mitigating risk and increasing competitiveness.
- Accessing specialized services and offering more options.
There are other times when brands make a business decision to change 3PL providers entirely. Regardless of the reason, our support team will help guide you through the process of connecting your account with to a client that already is working with antoher 3PL that uses ShipHero as their WMS.

Connecting your 3PL to an exisitng 3PL Client Account
There are a few steps that you will need to complete when connecting your account to an existing 3PL client account.
- Written consent from the new 3PL, the existing 3PL and the 3PL client must be provided before any connections are made, please include the CSMs of both 3PLs as well on the communication to our support team.
- After confirmation is provided from all parties our support team will connect the new 3PL on the backend of the client account. Our support team will confirm via email once complete.
- After the connection is made MWA (Multi-Warehouse Allocation) is enabled on the client account and the "Hide Orders from App" will be enabled for the customer for the newly connected 3PL.
- Both 3PLs will need to partner and configure the MWA Rules accordingly for client. Here is more information on How to use Multi-Warehouse Allocation Rules.
- When the new 3PL is ready to start processing orders for the customer disable the "Hide Orders from App" on the 3PL Customer page.
Shared Settings and Visible Information
There is some informaiton on the client account that both 3PLs will have access to and other information that is not available to the other 3PL. Depending on how the 3PL navigates to the Client account will determine the information that can be seen.
- If the 3PL user is signed into their 3PL account and have the All option selected on the navigation dropdown they will only see the information pertaining to their 3PL and their "allowed warehouses."
- From this view the 3PL user will not see:
- Orders assigned to the other 3PL
- Products created in teh other 3PLs warehouse
- Inventory changes for the client from the other 3PL.
- Billing information from the other 3PL's connection.
- From this view the 3PL user will not see:
- If the 3PL user navigates to the client account by selecting the customer from the navigational dropdown they will see and filter information for all the warehouses connected to the client.
- From this view the 3PL user will have the ability to:
- View and Edit orders assinged to either warehouse.
- View and filter for information from the other 3PL's warehouse in the filter dropdowns.

- The 3PL User does not have access to:
- The other 3PL's billing profiles
- Cannot edit the inventory for products associated with the other 3Pls warehouse
- From this view the 3PL user will have the ability to:
- When Client acount user signs in they will see ALL information on their account for both 3PLs pertaining to their user's role permissions. As with the normal functions of a client account they wwill not be able to make any inventory changes for their products or ship any orders.
