When shipping with FedEx Express, the label must reflect the physical date handed off to the carrier. If you would like to produce labels in advance and have a different date printed on the label, a setting in ShipHero will allow you to do this.
To select the advance label setting, go to the Carrier tab. Ensure that your FedEx account is connected and click Settings. You will see a drop-down list of how many days in advance you would like to have labels produced in ShipHero, as shown here:
Please note the Exclude Saturdays setting and the automatic exclusion of Sundays and US Holidays when calculating the ship date. For example, if it was Thursday and you set Label Date to two days, the advance date would be Saturday. If you checked the box Exclude Saturdays, the advance date would be Monday.
The advance date can also be set on a single shipment. When you are in the order, click on Order Options, and the below setting will appear. This is where you can change the label date.
This setting will work account-wide for the assigned shipping profile. If you have multiple profiles for FedEx in your account, you will need to set the advance date for each one. This only applies to FedEx Express shipments and is not required for FedEx Ground or SmartPost.
