Picking efficiency is crucial in a warehouse environment with hundreds or thousands of products spread out in different locations. This is why ShipHero allows you to "rate" your locations, so when the pickers start a batch on their mobile devices, they will be directed first to the location with the higher priority rating.
Setting Pick Priority
When assigning pick priorities to locations, ShipHero begins with 0 as the top priority and then proceeds up through higher numbers on the list (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on).
Note: In a situation where multiple locations have the same SKU and are assigned the same priority, the location with the lowest inventory of that SKU will be first.
To change the priority list, begin by navigating to Inventory > Locations. Use the Search field to find the location you want to prioritize.
Click on the number under the column Pick Priority, and input a new priority number. Press the ENTER key when you are done.
Example of Pick Priority in Action
The following example order contains two items that have multiple locations linked.
I prioritized this location to direct me when picking, even though there are other locations with less quantity in them, but they all have 1 in Pick Priority.
Upon starting MIB, it begins with directions to the location marked priority 0.
