Once a wholesale order reaches Packed status, you can generate carrier shipping labels. While the process is straightforward, specific rules apply depending on whether the order is standard or managed via EDI.

Generating Labels for Courier Orders (Non-EDI)
For standard wholesale orders, labels are generated directly through connected carrier accounts. Ensure your specific carrier account is integrated with ShipHero before beginning the wholesale flow.
Requirements and Considerations
- Each outer box in a courier order must have a unique shipping label for carrier processing.
- The system uses the carrier and shipping method assigned in the Order Details for label generation.
NOTE: You cannot modify the carrier or shipping method within the wholesale flow. To make changes, navigate to the order details page on the app.shiphero.com dashboard.
Supported Carriers
ShipHero supports the following carriers for label generation: FedEx, UPS, DHL Ecommerce, USPS_MODERN, Purolator, Canada Post, Shippo, Endicia, Passport, Veho, and API Carriers via webhook methods. Generic labels are also supported.
Multi-Package Courier Orders (MPS)
When a carrier supports multi-package shipments, the system automatically groups labels into batches based on carrier-specific limits. Detailed limits can be found in the Processing Multi-Package Orders guide.
IMPORTANT: Multi-package wholesale shipments must be enabled by ShipHero Support. Without this setting, the system will request labels from the carrier individually rather than as a grouped batch.
- Grouped Batches: Each batch has a unique ID. Expand a batch in the Shipping and Packing Labels section to view individual labels, LPNs, SSCC codes, and package weights.
- Batch Voiding: Because MPS shipments share a tracking ID, you must void the complete batch. The "Void" button is disabled for single labels within an MPS group.
- Batch Re-printing: You may re-print a complete batch or a specific box within that batch by selecting it from the list.
Step-by-Step Label Generation
-
Click the Generate labels button. The order moves to a temporary Generating labels status while the system communicates with the carrier.
-
When the process is complete, the status updates to Ready to print and the following informaiton is updated for each package.
Box & Package Data Carrier & Tracking Data Box ID, Box LPN, General Content, Dimensions, and Weight. Carrier Name, Tracking Number (link), and Generation Timestamp. - Click Print Shipping labels to generate a PDF of all labels. This action moves the order to Warehouse Complete, making the Fulfill order button available.
CAUTION: Do not click the Fulfill order button until the Outbound Schedule is complete. Review the Outbound Schedule for Wholesale for further instructions.
Generating Labels for Courier Orders (EDI)
The primary difference for EDI orders is the label format. When the Generate labels button is clicked for an EDI order, the system requests both the standard Carrier Label and the GS1 UCC128 Label (also known as the carton label) from the EDI platform.
Advance Shipping Notice (ASN)
All EDI orders require an Advance Shipping Notice (ASN). This is a technical .xml document containing detailed shipping information, including packing configurations, dimensions, and weights. The ASN can be sent at the time of fulfillment or generated in advance if shipping details require early reporting.
