Overview: WorkforceHero Dashboard Setup & Configuration

WorkforceHero is a labor management solution within ShipHero that enables you to track employees and their time on task, time spent on Special Projects, alerts for idle workers, and clock in/out via kiosk. Introduction to WorkforceHero

WorkforceHero provides an easy-to-read dashboard that lets managers see which jobs each worker is assigned to. From the Workforce Dashboard, a manager can:

  • Assign workers to a job and move workers between activities.
  • View all workers and what jobs they are currently working on.
  • View, hide, and create jobs.

Workers can clock into a job, clock out for a break, and track their time on task using the kiosk.

How to Access the WorkforceHero Dashboard

You can access WorkforceHero Dashboard by navigating to WorkforceHero > Live View on the New & Updated Features platform.

WorkforceHero Permissions

WorkforceHero has its own permission set in ShipHero. Users must have WorkforceHero permissions assigned to their role in order to access the page.

You do not need to grant a role WorkforceHero permissions for employees to use it as a time-keeping tool (i.e. clock in/out or track paid breaks and lunches). Role-level permissions control the ability to view, create, edit, or delete within WorkforceHero — not basic kiosk use.

To set WorkforceHero permissions for a role:

  1. Go to the Users & Roles page and open the Roles tab.
  2. Find the role you want to update and click into the role details.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the WorkforceHero permissions section (listed alphabetically). Select the appropriate access level: View, Create, Edit, or Delete.

Once you enable WorkforceHero permissions for a role, all employees assigned to that role will inherit the same permissions. For more details on managing users and roles, see the Users, Roles and Permissions article.

How to Set Up WorkforceHero

Before your team can use WorkforceHero, you will need to print employee badges and set up a kiosk station. The recommended hardware for this setup is:

Each employee needs a printed badge with a barcode they can scan at the kiosk to clock in and out. To print a badge, go to the team member's details page and click Print Badge.

Once badges are printed, employees can scan their badge at the kiosk to sign into a job, take a break, or go to lunch. To open the WorkforceHero Kiosk go to the WorkforceHero > Kiosk page.
