Key Passport Features
- International Label Generation: Generate ready-to-use international labels directly within the ShipHero packing workflow. Domestic shipments are not allowed.
-
Incoterm Selection: The shipping method you select within ShipHero determines whether the order is processed as DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) or DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid). Passport shipping methods with 'DDP' in the name (e.g., ExpressDdp, PriorityDdpDelcon) will be processed as Delivered Duty Paid, while Passport shipping methods with 'DDU' in the name (e.g., PriorityDdu, StandardDdu) will be processed as Delivered Duty Unpaid.
NOTE: You cannot overwrite a Passport shipping method's assigned incoterm by changing the incoterm selection on the order details page or via automation rules. To change the incoterm for an order shipped via Passport you must select an applicable shipping method.
What Are Incoterms? Incoterms, or International Commercial Terms, are a set of rules published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) that define the responsibilities of sellers and buyers for the delivery of goods in international trade. They specify who is responsible for paying for and managing the shipment, insurance, documentation, customs clearance, and other logistical activities.
Incoterm Definition DDP The shipper handles the payment of duties and taxes, ensuring no surprise fees for the customer upon delivery. DDU The customer is responsible for paying duties and taxes to the local customs office before the package is released. - Compliance and Documentation: Passport manages the electronic submission of customs data, reducing the manual paperwork required for international shipments.
