How Barcodes are Generated
Product barcodes are established in the system through two primary methods:
- Automatic Import: When a product is imported from a connected sales channel, ShipHero automatically adopts the existing barcode associated with that SKU.
- Manual Creation: If a product is created in ShipHero or imported without a specified barcode, the system automatically generates a unique barcode to ensure the item remains trackable.
Ensure your barcode printer is correctly configured in your ShipHero settings before attempting to print, as the system will default to your saved hardware preferences.
Printing an Individual Product Barcode
To print a label for a single SKU, navigate to the Product Detail page:
- Go to Inventory > Products using the top navigation menu.
- Search for and select the specific Product you wish to update.

In the Actions panel on the left side of the screen, click Print Barcode Label.
- Enter the required Quantity of labels.
- Click OK to send the job to your printer.
Printing Multiple Product Barcodes in Bulk
When managing larger inventory updates, you can print labels for multiple products simultaneously:
- Go to Inventory > Products.
- Use the checkboxes to select all Products that require new labels.
- Click the Print Barcodes button located at the top of the product list.
- Enter the Quantity needed for each SKU.
- Click OK to finalize the request.
