Drop shipping lets you fulfill orders by routing them directly to a vendor for shipment. ShipHero automates the invoice, vendor notification, and tracking update process.
Only vendors previously associated with a product will be available for selection during drop shipment.
How to Create a Drop Shipment
- Go to Orders > Manage Orders and select the order you want to drop ship.

Click Drop Ship in the Actions section on the right.

Select the Vendor from the dropdown.

Check the Items to include and enter the Quantities to send.

Choose the Shipping Carrier and Method for the vendor to use.

To deduct the shipped quantity from inventory, select Remove quantities from inventory.
- Click Submit to finalize the request.
Vendor Communication and Tracking
After submitting, notify your vendor and record the shipment:

Click Email Vendor to send the system-generated PDF invoice to the vendor's email address.
- Once the vendor ships the order, click Complete to add the tracking number and carrier. This automatically updates the customer.
Monitoring Drop Shipments
To view current and past drop shipments, go to Orders > Drop Shipments. From here you can search for shipments, check completion status, and update records as needed.
