Troubleshooting the ShipHero Mobile App

The ShipHero mobile app helps you manage your warehouse operations, including picking, packing, receiving, and updating inventory. If you find the app is running slowly, follow these troubleshooting steps to improve its performance.

1. Restart Your Device

While it may seem simple, restarting your device is the most effective first step.

  1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
  3. After the device is off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

2. Update the App and Device

Keeping your app and device's operating system up to date is crucial for performance.

  • Check for app updates: Visit the Apple App Store to download the latest version of the ShipHero app. We release regular updates that improve stability, performance, and add new features.
  • Update your device's operating system: Make sure your device is running the latest iOS release.

3. Check Your Network Connection

A slow or unstable internet connection can impact app performance.

  • Test your speed: The app requires a connection speed of 5 Mbps or greater (upload and download). Run a connection test on the device you are using to check your current speed.
  • Check your Wi-Fi signal: Look at the signal strength in different areas of your warehouse. Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi access point to see if performance improves.

4. Troubleshoot Scanning Performance

If you are experiencing issues with a connected scanner, try these steps:

  • Restart everything: Restart your mobile device and reconnect the scanner.
  • Check the hardware: Ensure the scanner's battery is charged and the firmware is up to date. Try using a different scanner to see if the issue is hardware-related.
  • Rule out interference: Check for potential sources of wireless interference and confirm the scanner is properly paired with the mobile device.

5. Optimize Your Mobile Device

Device performance itself can be a factor.

  • Close unused apps: Quit any apps or games running in the background.
  • Adjust device settings: Turn off features like Background App Refresh and Auto-Update to free up memory. You can also turn off Transparency and Motion to improve performance.
