The ShipHero mobile app supports picking, packing, receiving, and inventory management. If the app is running slowly, follow these steps to improve performance.
1. Restart Your Device
Restarting is the quickest and most effective first step.
- Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the slider appears.
- Drag the slider to turn the device off.
- Once off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
2. Update the App and Device
Running outdated software is a common cause of performance issues.
- App updates: Visit the Apple App Store to install the latest version of ShipHero.
- iOS updates: Make sure your device is running the latest iOS release.
3. Check Your Network Connection
A slow or unstable connection directly affects app performance.
- Test your speed: The app requires at least 5 Mbps upload and download. Run a speed test on the device you're using.
- Check your Wi-Fi signal: Test signal strength in different areas of your warehouse and try connecting to a different access point.
4. Troubleshoot Scanner Performance
If a connected scanner is causing issues, try the following:
- Restart and reconnect: Restart your mobile device and reconnect the scanner.
- Check the hardware: Confirm the scanner battery is charged and firmware is up to date. Try a different scanner to rule out a hardware issue.
- Rule out interference: Look for nearby sources of wireless interference and confirm the scanner is properly paired.
5. Optimize Your Device
Device-level settings can also impact app speed.
- Close background apps: Quit any apps or games running in the background.
- Adjust settings: Disable Background App Refresh, Auto-Update, and Transparency and Motion to free up memory and improve performance.
