During the receiving process, you can add lot and expiration dates to products, as long as Lot & Expiration Date tracking is enabled for that SKU. Below are the steps on how to add lot and expiration information to a prioduct during the receiving process.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Each location can only have one lot code or expiration date associated with it per SKU. If you try to receive a different lot into a lcoation that already has inventory for another lot you will recieve an error, i.e., Cannot use Lot Test 2 for SKU glass-globe and location A-01-100 since there's still inventory with lot Test 3. This is a restriction to prevent errors in picking.
How to Receive Products with Lots
- Go to the Purchase Orders page and select the PO you would like to receive.
- Click on Receiving Page button in the top right hand corner.
- Scan the SKU barcode or click on Accepted column for that product.
- This will open the window to Select the Lot or Add a New Lot, add the quantity being received and select/scan the location you are receiving into.
NOTE: If you forgot to enable the Needs Lot Tracking setting before processing a purchase order, selecting the Activate Lot link will open the product details page to enable the Needs Lot Tracking setting.
