You can adjust inventory (increase or decrease the on-hand quantity of a SKU) directly from ShipHero Mobile using the Search Items feature. This works for loose items stored in a location and for items stored in a License Plate Number (LPN). An LPN is a barcode ShipHero assigns to a box, carton, or pallet so it can be tracked as one container.
How to Adjust Inventory in ShipHero Mobile
- From the main menu, tap Inventory and select Search Items.
- Scan or type the SKU you want to adjust. The app opens the Edit Product screen for that SKU.
- Tap Edit Inventory next to the On Hand count to open the Edit Inventory screen.
- Select a Reason for change if you want to record one. For accounts that require a reason for every inventory change, see How to Use Custom Inventory Change Reasons.
-
Select the location or LPN you want to adjust.
Make sure you are editing the correct record (Loose SKU or LPN) before saving to maintain accurate audit trails.
Inventory Type Description and Display Indicators Loose Items Stock stored directly at the location without an LPN. Shows Location ID only (e.g., OVER-T-41). LPN Items stored within a specific container ID. Shows Location ID + LPN ID (e.g., OVER-T-41 + B147). -
Tap Adjust, select Increase or Decrease, and enter the adjustment quantity.
If you cannot reduce a location quantity because inventory is allocated to open orders, see Troubleshooting: Why You Can’t Reduce Inventory in a Location.
- Tap Confirm.
- Once all adjustments for this SKU are complete, tap Save. The stock level for the selected location or LPN updates immediately. ShipHero records the change in the inventory change log for loose SKUs, and in the LPN Timeline for LPN stock.
