How to Show Label Cost to 3PL Clients

When you create label fees in your 3PL Billing billing profiles, you have the option on how and when you want your clients to see the shipping label costs associated with their orders. The "show label cost setting" is enabled in the customer's 3PL billing settings and must be set for each warehouse they are connected to.

Shipping label fees should be set for the customer's billing profile BEFORE changing the visibility settings. If they are not set beforehand, your customers may be able to see the raw cost of the shipping labels. For more information on creating label fees please visit our article, 3PL Billing - Billing Fees Overview.

Things to Consider

  1. ShipHero saves the marked-up cost that is displayed when the label is generated. If Show marked up cost or Use marked up cost, but don't show is selected, any changes to shipping label fees will not be updated on the shipment section of the order details page. The label will always reflect the original cost/fee even if the fee is changed. This may cause visual discrepancies in your generated bill vs. what your client sees in the platform.
  2. To update historical shipment costs to show markups, you'll need to request a Professional Services data task. This service has associated costs.
    • If you'd like to proceed with updating historical costs, please provide:
      - Your name and email
      - Account ID(s) including both 3PL and child account IDs
      - Purpose and specific changes needed
