Connecting Your Etsy Store

Follow these steps to connect your Etsy store to ShipHero.

  1. Go to the My Account > Stores page.
  2. Click Add a New Store and select Etsy from the list.
  3. In the Shop Name field, enter your store name exactly as it appears in your store URL. For example, for the Etsy store URL https://britishthings.etsy.com, enter "britishthings".
  4. Choose whether to download products and orders created in Etsy into ShipHero.
  5. Select whether the starting inventory for the store should Start at 0 or Match What's in Etsy.

    Important

If you use the Match What's in Etsy setting, create a location called "Unassigned" first. ShipHero automatically assigns imported inventory to this location. Inventory imported without a location causes data issues that require manual correction.

  6. If your account has multiple warehouses, choose whether to create products in All Warehouses or in specific warehouses.
  7. Choose whether ShipHero manages your Etsy inventory:
    • Allow ShipHero to manage your Etsy inventory: ShipHero acts as the primary inventory manager across your connected stores, so product availability stays accurate everywhere when orders are fulfilled.
    • Do not allow ShipHero to manage your Etsy inventory: Choose this if you use another inventory management system or don't want ShipHero syncing product inventory counts for your Etsy store.
  8. Click Connect.
  9. Click Allow Access to give ShipHero permission to access your store. This is necessary for the store connection to work.
Etsy store connection settings in ShipHero

Once connected, your Etsy store appears in your Store Connections list, and ShipHero starts fetching existing products from your store. Depending on how many products there are, this may take up to 20 minutes to complete.

Etsy Order Cancellation Syncing

When a buyer cancels an order on Etsy, ShipHero detects the cancellation on the next sync and cancels the matching order in ShipHero automatically. ShipHero adds an entry to the order's history log noting when and why the order was canceled, giving you full visibility into the change.
