Using DHL eCommerce and Closing Out
To ensure successful shipments and carrier compliance, follow these operational steps daily.
Sorting Requirements
Before the carrier arrives, ensure that all service levels and international parcels are sorted into separate containers, such as Gaylords, pallets, or bags.
Daily Closeout Process
Create a manifest once all shipments for the day are completed. This closeout must be completed at the end of every business day to finalize parcel data and generates the Driver Manifest Summary (DSM), which must be provided to the driver during pickup.
Follow these steps to generate your manifest in ShipHero:
- Open the Orders > Manifests page and click the Create Manifest button.
- Select DHL eCommerce from the carrier dropdown, the warehouse and date you are generating the manifest for.
- Click the Generate button.
The number of packages shipped with this carrier will determine the amount of time it takes to generate the manifest and be able to print it out. For more information about generating manifests visit our article, Understanding Carrier Manifests in ShipHero. Check out our closing out manifests video for a visual guide.
Important
The Driver Manifest Summary (DSM) is a required document for the carrier pickup process. Shipments may be delayed if this document is not provided to the driver.
