NOTE: For printing shipping labels and invoices from a computer we recommend using the Packing App. The workstaion app is only required for printing from app.shiphero.com, shipping.shiphero.com and the ShipHero Mobile app.
A workstation is the setup of printers and scales used to print from app.shiphero.com, shipping.shiphero.com, and the ShipHero Mobile app. Because these print jobs are triggered through AppSync, a computer must be running the ShipHero Workstation Desktop App to complete them successfully, with the requesting user assigned to the configured workstation.

Managing and Setting up a Workstation
Before getting started, make sure your computer meets the minimum hardware requirements. Only computers with the workstation app installed will appear in the list on the Stations page; if a computer is not on the list, the workstation app must be installed and configured accordingly.

Please see this article for more information on Supported Hardware Devices.
Setting up a Workstation
1. Download the Workstation app for PC or Mac from the My Account > Apps page.
Note: If after installing the app it doesn't launch, check your anti-virus and firewall settings to make sure the application is not blocked.
-
-
- To open the app on Windows, click on the ShipHero Workstation Desktop App, then go to the app tray and select the Black ShipHero icon.
-
-
-
- To open the app on a Mac, click on the ShipHero Workstation Desktop App, then select the black ShipHero icon in the toolbar.
-
2. Log in to the application. Here, you can rename the workstation, navigate to the Stations page, or remove it from the computer.
3. Navigate to the Stations page, assign the printers and scales for the workstation, and Save Settings.
NOTE: Multiple Stations can be set up on the same computer. This is most common when multiple label printers are connected to a single computer, and multiple users generate labels from the Single Orders function on the Mobile App.
Renaming a Workstation
The computer's name on the ShipHero Workstation App is how it will be displayed on the Stations page. To rename a computer, open the app, click on the name, type in the new name, and hit Save.
If multiple stations are assigned to one computer, you will be asked to name each one upon creation. If you need to edit this, the station must be removed and recreated.
Removing a Workstation
When troubleshooting the workstation app, it may be recommended to uninstall and reinstall the app. We recommend unregistering the computer from the app before uninstalling the app from the computer.
To remove a workstation, open the app on the computer it's installed on and use the link to unregister:
Assigning Users to the Workstation
To print from app.shiphero.com or the ShipHero Mobile App, a user must be assigned to an online workstation. Workstations can be shared, and the number of users assigned to a workstation is unlimited.
- Go to https://shipping.shiphero.com/users/ and select the user.
- Select the workstation from the Default Print Station dropdown and hit Save.
