Replenishing Inventory with UOMs

When replenishing a pickable bin from an overstock location that contains a larger UOM (such as a Master Case or Pallet), ShipHero will prompt you to break the larger UOM into smaller units as part of the replenishment workflow. This process is completed entirely in the ShipHero Mobile app.

Important

When breaking down a UOM during replenishment, you must process the entire larger UOM. For example, if a Master Case contains 20 Eaches, all 20 must be scanned and placed before the replenishment task is complete.

Step-by-Step: Replenishing with UOMs

Example mobile navigation: breaking a larger UOM into smaller units during replenishment.

  1. Open the Replenishment Report: Navigate to Inventory > Replenishment in the ShipHero Mobile app.
  2. Select a Source Location: Tap the Select location pill on a replenishment item to view available locations and the UOMs stored in each.
  3. Confirm Quantity: Select a location. The required replenishment quantity will display at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Save Selection: Tap Save to return to the Replenishment report.
  5. Initiate Replenishment: Select an item with an assigned source location and tap Replenish.
  6. Review the Putaway List: View the putaway list and select the inventory to replenish.

If the source location contains a larger UOM, a prompt will appear indicating that the UOM must be broken down into smaller units to complete the replenishment.

  7. Scan the Source Location: Scan the barcode of the replenishment source location.
  8. Pick the UOM: Scan and pick the UOM unit. The screen displays the required number of UOM units to pick. Partial replenishment is permitted.
  9. Scan the Destination Location: Scan the putaway (destination) location barcode.

The destination location cannot contain a different nested UOM. It must be empty or already assigned to the component UOM or Each you are replenishing with.

  10. Break Down the UOM: Open the larger UOM, then scan and place each smaller unit into the destination location.

You must process the entire larger UOM. For example, if a Master Case contains 20 Eaches, all 20 must be scanned and placed before you can proceed.

  11. Follow the on-screen counter showing remaining units until all pieces within the UOM have been placed (for example, 10 Eaches from an Inner Pack).
  12. Complete: Verify the replenishment on the final confirmation screen.
