Automation Rule Triggers for Order Details

The order detail automation rule triggers match an order on its own labels: the order number, the store, the profile, the fulfillment status, the box, and the sales channel that created it. Use them to send one store's orders down a different path, act on a profile, or react to a custom status. ShipHero has six of these triggers: Order number, Store Name, Order Profile, Fulfillment Status, Box Name, and Order Partner Source Name.

Before You Begin

  • Earlier rules: Order Profile, Fulfillment Status, and Box Name can be set by an earlier automation rule. Place the rule that sets the value above the rule that reads it.
  • When rules run: Automation rules run once, when an order is created or imported, and only on orders that arrive after the rule exists. Orders already in ShipHero are not updated.

For every trigger ShipHero offers, see Automation Rule Triggers Reference. To build a rule, see How to Use Automation Rules in ShipHero. If a rule does not run, see Troubleshooting: Why Is My Automation Rule Not Working?

Order Number, Store, and Profile Automation Rule Triggers

The Order number, Store Name, and Order Profile triggers use the Text conditions: equals, not equals, contains, does not contain, starts with, not starts with, ends with, not ends with, greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, less than or equal to, in list, not in list, in list contains, not in list contains, in list starts with, not in list starts with, in list ends with, and not in list ends with.

Trigger What it checks What to enter When it does not fire
Order number The order number on the order, including the # if the number has one. At least two characters. The equals and starts with conditions both match exactly. Your value leaves out the # that the order number includes.
Store Name The store shown in the Store field on the order. The store as it appears on the order. Shopify stores are often a URL, such as my-store.myshopify.com. Upper and lower case are treated the same. You entered a friendly store name when the order shows a URL.
Order Profile The profile on the order, set by default in the store settings or by an earlier automation rule. The profile name. Upper and lower case are treated the same. The rule that sets the profile sits below this rule, so the order has the store's default profile when this rule runs.

Fulfillment Status and Box Name Automation Rule Triggers

The Fulfillment Status and Box Name triggers use the Text (limited) conditions: equals, not equals, contains, does not contain, starts with, ends with, not ends with, greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, less than or equal to, in list, not in list, in list contains, not in list contains, in list starts with, and not in list starts with.

Trigger What it checks What to enter When it does not fire
Fulfillment Status The fulfillment status of the order. This includes custom statuses set by the Set a custom status action. The status, such as pending or fulfilled, or the name of a custom status. The rule that sets the custom status sits below this rule.
Box Name The name of the box assigned to the order. The box name, such as Small Box. Upper and lower case are treated the same. No box is assigned yet. A box is assigned by a Set box to use rule or when a packer chooses a box at pack time, so add an earlier rule with the Set box to use action.

Order Partner Source Name Automation Rule Trigger

The Order Partner Source Name trigger matches the sales channel an order originally came from, as Shopify reports it, such as tiktok or pos. It uses the Text (basic) conditions: equals, not equals, contains, does not contain, starts with, and ends with.

Trigger What it checks What to enter When it does not fire
Order Partner Source Name The sales channel the order came from. Upper and lower case are treated the same. The channel name as Shopify reports it, such as tiktok or pos. The order did not come from Shopify. Shopify is the only platform that fills this value automatically.
