The date and time automation rule triggers match an order on when it imported: the date and time, the day of the week, and the time of day. Use them to hold weekend orders, tag orders placed after a cutoff, or run a rule only during a sale. ShipHero has three of these triggers: Order date and time, Day of Week, and Time of Day.
Before You Begin
- Import time: All three triggers read the time the order imported into ShipHero, not the time the customer paid.
- Time zone: ShipHero uses the time zone set in your account settings.
- When rules run: Automation rules run once, when an order is created or imported, and only on orders that arrive after the rule exists. Orders already in ShipHero are not updated.
For every trigger ShipHero offers, see Automation Rule Triggers Reference. To build a rule, see How to Use Automation Rules in ShipHero. If a rule does not run, see Troubleshooting: Why Is My Automation Rule Not Working?

Order Date and Time Automation Rule Trigger
The Order date and time trigger matches the date and time the order imported. It uses the Numeric conditions: equals, not equals, greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, less than or equal to, in list, and not in list.
| Trigger | What it checks | What to enter | When it does not fire |
|---|---|---|---|
| Order date and time | The date and time the order imported, in your account time zone. | Pick the date on the calendar, or type it as mm/dd/yyyy. For January 15, 2026, type 01/15/2026. | The date is typed in another format, such as 2026-01-15 or 1/15/26. |
Day of Week Automation Rule Trigger
The Day of Week trigger matches the day the order imported. It uses the Numeric conditions: equals, not equals, greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, less than or equal to, in list, and not in list. Enter whole numbers only: 0 is Sunday, 1 is Monday, 2 is Tuesday, 3 is Wednesday, 4 is Thursday, 5 is Friday, and 6 is Saturday.
| Goal | Condition | What to enter | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| One day | equals | 1 | Matches Monday. |
| Several days | in list | 0, 6 | Matches Sunday or Saturday. Separate days with a comma and a space. |
| Every day except some | not in list | 0, 6 | Matches Monday through Friday. |
| Weekdays by range | greater than or equal to | 1 | Add a second Day of Week trigger less than or equal to 5. All triggers in a rule must match. |
With any condition other than in list or not in list, enter only one day per trigger. To match more than one day with OR, use in list.
Time of Day Automation Rule Trigger
The Time of Day trigger matches the time the order imported. It uses the Time comparison conditions: greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, and less than or equal to. Equals is not available.
| Trigger | What it checks | What to enter | When it does not fire |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time of Day | The time the order imported, in your account time zone. | Type the time in 24-hour format, such as 14:30, or in 12-hour format with a leading zero, such as 02:30pm. A list of half-hour times appears as you type. | The time has no leading zero, such as 2:30pm. Enter 02:30pm. |
