How to Use Automation Rules for International Orders

ShipHero's automation rules are built around a system of "triggers" and "actions." Triggers are the conditions an order must meet, and actions are the tasks that ShipHero automatically performs once those conditions are met. This allows you to streamline your international fulfillment process by automating tasks that would otherwise require manual intervention.

Here are some of the key automation rules and features you can use for international orders in ShipHero:

Adjusting Customs Documentation and Duties

Set Profile

(More Info Here)

Sets an order to a specific profile. Select profile from dropdown. If you have a FedEx account for domestic orders and a separate one for international orders, assign all orders shipping to a specific country to your "International" profile.
Select a Shipping Method Sets a specific carrier and shipping method on the order. Select Carrier and Shipping Method from dropdown. Set triggers based on the destination country, order weight, or total value to automatically set a specific international shipping method. This ensures the most appropriate and cost-effective shipping service is used for each order.

Important Considerations:

  • Triggers and Actions: Remember that every automation rule has a trigger (the "if" part) and an action (the "then" part). You can combine multiple triggers using "and" logic to create very specific rules.
  • Order of Rules: The order of your automation rules matters. You can rearrange them to ensure that higher-priority rules run and override other rules if necessary.
  • New Orders Only: Automation rules generally only apply to new orders after the rule has been activated. They do not retroactively apply to orders already in the system.
