How to Pack a Courier Wholesale Order

Once all inventory has been picked, the order moves to Packing status and the Packing Layout opens automatically. This article covers the packing process for Courier wholesale orders, where all inventory is packed into boxes.

Before You Begin

  • Packer Notes: If the order has packer notes, a notes icon will be visible in the Packing Layout. Click it to open the instructions modal, which can also be printed.

  • Items Unpacked List: This list shows quantities and UOMs of products not yet packed from the staging location, along with the LPNs they are associated with.

For container management — adding, deleting, duplicating, moving containers, editing quantities, and lot-controlled SKU rules — see Understanding Containers in the Wholesale Packing Flows. For freight packing, see How to Pack a Freight Wholesale Order.

Starting the Courier Order Packing Layout

If you used the Manual or Mobile Pick Only flow, you will need to configure all boxes in the Packing Layout. If you used the Mobile Picking & Packing flow, box configurations from the picking process will already appear in the layout — use the container actions to adjust them if needed.

When the Packing Layout opens for a Courier order, click Create a box to begin. Containers are assigned an ID and LPN automatically — print and apply these LPNs to the physical boxes for tracking.

Step 1: Select SKUs for Packing

Select the SKUs you want to pack. You can select a single SKU or multiple SKUs at once.

Select Items How Will You Pack Those SKUs?

Step 2: Configure Courier Boxes

After selecting SKUs, choose how to pack them: One SKU per container or Multiple SKUs in the same container.

Option 1: One SKU per Container

Create multiple box configurations at once, with only one SKU per box. If you selected multiple SKUs in Step 1, you will be directed to configure the next SKU after completing the first using the Next button.

  1. Select the box type, the number of units of the displayed SKU to pack per box, and the number of boxes with this configuration to create.

    Pro-Tip

Click the suggested quantity to instantly input it without typing.

  2. To add a different box configuration for the same SKU, click Add box configuration and repeat the selection.
  3. To move to the next SKU, click Next and repeat as needed.
  4. Click Save when box configuration is complete. The packer receives instructions showing where to pull inventory from (Staging and LPN) and which box to pack it into. Box configurations appear in the Packing Layout with auto-generated LPNs.

  5. When all products are packed, the status pill updates to All items packed. Click Set as packing Complete to move the order to Packed status.

Option 2: Multiple SKUs in the Same Container

Create multiple identical boxes with the same configuration. Only one box type can be configured at a time.

  1. Select Multiple SKUs in same container, choose the box type, and enter the number of identical containers to create.

  2. Enter how many of each SKU to pack per box. Next to each SKU you will see the UOM and available quantity. Use Pack All to auto-fill quantities:
    • Single box: Pack All adds all units of all SKUs into that container.
    • Multi-box: Pack All divides quantities evenly. Any units that cannot be split equally are left unpacked.
  3. Click Save. Packing instructions and auto-generated LPN box configurations appear in the Packing Layout.
