Connecting Dashlink in ShipHero

Connecting Dashlink to ShipHero lets you quote Dashlink rates, print Dashlink labels while packing, and track deliveries on the order. Dashlink is DoorDash's parcel delivery service, so DoorDash provides your connection credentials. Gather those before you start.

Before You Begin

  • DoorDash Account: You need an existing DoorDash account that DoorDash has enabled for parcel delivery. An account that has not been enabled for parcel cannot create Dashlink labels, even if the credentials are correct.
  • Credentials to Gather: Ask your DoorDash representative to confirm your account is enabled for parcel and to send you your Developer ID, Key ID, Signing Secret, and business ID.

DoorDash issues three credentials that work together as a set, plus a business ID that identifies your account. Request all four from your DoorDash representative. ShipHero cannot generate or look up these values for you.

Credential What It Is
Developer ID Identifies your DoorDash developer account. Provided by DoorDash.
Key ID Identifies which access key ShipHero is using. Provided by DoorDash.
Signing Secret The private value that proves each request came from you. Treat it like a password and do not share it. Provided by DoorDash.
Business ID Your DoorDash business or account number. This is the account DoorDash bills and the account that must be enabled for parcel delivery.

Important

All three credentials must come from the same DoorDash access key. Mixing a Developer ID from one key with a Key ID or Signing Secret from another causes label and tracking requests to fail.

Dashlink offers a single shipping method in ShipHero, DoorDash Parcel. There are no faster or slower service levels to choose from, and Dashlink returns one flat rate per package.

Map DoorDash Parcel to your shipping methods so rate shopping and automation rules can select it by name. If it is not mapped, ShipHero still returns the Dashlink rate. Mapping it keeps your shipping method names consistent in reports and automation rules.

After connecting, the following settings are available on the Dashlink carrier connection.

Setting Description
Cut-Off Time Labels generated after this time will print with the creation date of the following day.
Disable Quoting Prevents this account from being quoted in rate shopping tools or cheapest shipping methods.

DoorDash charges for a Dashlink label only after the package is delivered. Voiding a label before pickup, or a delivery that is never completed, does not create a charge.

Important Reminders when Connecting a Carrier Account

  • Using Custom Profiles: Custom profiles allow you to connect the same carrier account multiple times with unique settings, such as specific Incoterms or 3rd Party Billing. For these settings to apply, the order must be assigned to that specific profile. If the assigned profile lacks a connected carrier, ShipHero will automatically use the carrier account connected the warehouse’s default profile for the selected shipping method. This ensures your specialized billing and shipping terms are applied correctly to every label. Visit the following article for more information on How to Use Warehouse Profiles.
  • Multi-Warehouse Accounts: To generate labels from multiple warehouses, you must connect your carrier account to each individual location in ShipHero to avoid shipping errors or billing discrepancies. Please consult your carrier to determine if a single account number supports multiple origins or if unique accounts are required for each site. This is especially critical for international locations, as carrier operations vary by country.
  • Note for 3PLs: When connecting a new carrier account to ShipHero, double check your 3PL Clients' Settings to ensure you are connecting the carrier account to the correct ShipHero account; if Use Customer's Shipping Accounts is enabled the carrier account must be connected at the child account level, if Use Customer's Shipping Account is not enabled, the carrier account needs to be enabled at the 3PL level. More information about Managing 3PL Client Settings can be found here.
