Overview: How the Walmart Store Integration Works in ShipHero

The Walmart store integration connects your Walmart Marketplace account to ShipHero so products, orders, and fulfillment updates move between the two systems. This article explains what data moves in each direction and where the integration has limits, so you know what to expect once your store is connected.

Products: Walmart to ShipHero

ShipHero imports your product catalog from Walmart. Products flow one direction only, from Walmart into ShipHero.

  • ShipHero rescans your full Walmart catalog once every hour.
  • ShipHero matches each Walmart listing to a ShipHero product using the Walmart Product ID (WPID) and SKU together.
  • On each rescan, ShipHero only refreshes price and SKU. Other product details are not updated after the initial import.
  • Product weight is not imported from Walmart. New products import with a weight of 0 and need to be set manually in ShipHero.

Orders: Walmart to ShipHero

ShipHero imports Walmart orders so they can be picked, packed, and shipped like any other order.

  • ShipHero pulls orders placed within a rolling 7-day window.
  • Drop-ship (DSV) orders are not supported by this integration and do not import into ShipHero.
  • If Walmart splits one purchase order into multiple shipments, ShipHero may import only one of them.

Inventory: ShipHero to Walmart

Inventory sync is off by default. Turn on Allow ShipHero to Manage Your Walmart Inventory in your store settings to let ShipHero push inventory levels to Walmart.

  • Inventory only flows one direction, from ShipHero to Walmart. ShipHero does not import inventory counts from Walmart.
  • The quantity ShipHero sends to Walmart is your available inventory minus any reserved inventory and backorders, with a minimum of 0.
  • ShipHero does not automatically reconcile inventory if the two systems drift out of sync.

Fulfillment and Order Updates: ShipHero to Walmart

When an order ships in ShipHero, ShipHero sends the shipment confirmation back to Walmart, including the tracking number and carrier.

  • ShipHero recognizes USPS, UPS, UPS Mail Innovations, FedEx, and DHL. Shipments with any other carrier are reported to Walmart as "Other Carrier."
  • Order cancellations sent to Walmart always use the reason "Customer Requested Seller to Cancel," regardless of why the order was actually canceled in ShipHero. Because every cancellation reports as seller-requested, canceling Walmart orders in ShipHero can affect your Walmart seller performance scorecard.
  • Refunds sent to Walmart always use the reason "Customer Changed Mind," regardless of why the refund was issued in ShipHero.

What This Integration Doesn't Do

  • Import returns or RMAs from Walmart
  • Import drop-ship (DSV) orders
  • Import inventory counts from Walmart
  • Import product weight
  • Reconcile inventory automatically if counts drift out of sync
