How to Use Bulk Ship with QR Code Picking

When you create a bulk ship batch, ShipHero generates a Picking List QR Code based on the locations selected. Scanning this code in the ShipHero mobile app guides you through each pick location to confirm the correct items — adding a quality control step to the bulk shipping process.

For more information, see How to Bulk Ship.

Here is an example of a Picking List QR Code.

How to Use the Picking List QR Code

The pick location cannot be changed in the mobile app. Inventory is deducted from the assigned location when the bulk ship batch is generated.

  1. Open ShipHero mobile.
  2. Scan the QR code to open the pick list. You can scan from any screen in the app or go directly to the Pick List page.
  3. Tap Start Picking to begin.
  4. Confirm the location by scanning the location barcode in your warehouse.
  5. Confirm the item by scanning the product's barcode.
  6. Verify the quantity picked and tap Confirm.
  7. After confirming, you will either be directed to pick the remaining items or see the option to Complete the batch.

Troubleshooting and Common Issues

If you have problems with QR code scanning, try the following steps:

  1. Verify App Version: Make sure you are running the latest mobile app version (current version as of 9/5/2025: 2.9.37).
    • Log out of the ShipHero app.
    • Fully close the app.
    • Reopen it and check the version number on the login screen.
  2. Scanner Compatibility:
    • Confirm your Bluetooth scanner is compatible with iPads running the ShipHero mobile app.
    • Ensure your scanner firmware is up to date.
    • Recommended scanner: Socket Mobile S700
  3. Additional Troubleshooting:
    • Restart your iPad completely.
    • Remove and re-pair your Bluetooth scanner:
      • Go to Bluetooth settings.
      • "Forget" or remove the current scanner.
      • Pair the scanner as a new device.
    • Check the QR code for damage or obstruction.
    • Ensure proper lighting and scanning angle.

If issues persist, contact ShipHero Support. Note that ShipHero Support cannot assist with scanner hardware issues — for scanner-specific problems, contact the device manufacturer's support team.
