Workflows route orders through a custom sequence of workstations before they ship — use them for any process outside the standard pick/pack/ship flow, such as gift wrapping, embroidery, engraving, or quality assurance.
How Workflows Work in ShipHero
| Concept | What it is |
|---|---|
| Workflow | A named sequence of stops orders pass through before shipping. Assigned to products via automation rules — ShipHero applies the workflow automatically when a matching order is imported. |
| Stop | A checkpoint in the workflow assigned to one or more workstations. Workers complete stops in order. Each stop can include instructions and displays any custom order attributes — for example, embroidery text entered by the customer at checkout. |
| Workstation | A physical area in your warehouse — such as a packing terminal or scanning station — that workers scan into when arriving at a stop. |
Workflows are configured by admins on the web platform. Workers interact with workflows through the mobile app and Packing App — they cannot edit the configuration.
Activation Required
Workflows must be enabled on your account before use. Contact support@shiphero.com to request access. Workflows also require Multi-Item Batch (MIB) picking to be active on your account.
