Prepare and Submit Rate Templates to ShipHero
UPS Mail Innovations rates must be manually uploaded to ShipHero — they are not retrieved via API.
- Download the rate templates attached to this article (Domestic and International).
- Fill in your rates and zones for both domestic and international shipping.
- Email the completed files along with your Cost Center ID and Endorsement ID to support@shiphero.com. ShipHero Support will complete the setup.
Helpful Tips and Limitations
Once ShipHero Support uploads your rates, your UPS Mail Innovations connection will be active. Keep the following in mind:
- ShipHero uses actual weight, not dimensional (DIM) weight, to calculate UPS Mail Innovations rates.
- "Bound Printed Matter (BPM)" cannot be used with UPS Expedited Mail Innovations. Use BPM Flat or BPM Parcel package types instead. These must be enabled in Shipping > Boxes before they appear in the packing interface. See How to Set Up Shipping Boxes for details.
- ShipHero cannot selectively enable or disable individual services within UPS Mail Innovations. Use the Rate Shop+ tool to control which services appear in cheapest-rate options.
- To display your Order Number on the label under "Package ID," contact support@shiphero.com.
- To disconnect UPS Mail Innovations, contact support@shiphero.com to have your rates removed.
What is DIM weight? Dimensional weight (DIM weight) is calculated by multiplying a package's length × width × height, then dividing by the carrier's dimensional divisor. Carriers charge based on whichever is greater — actual weight or DIM weight. For UPS Mail Innovations, ShipHero always uses actual weight.
