How to Set Up FedEx Ground Collect

FedEx Ground Collect is a billing option that allows the recipient to pay for the shipping charges. This is only available for recipients who have an authorized FedEx account with Ground Collect already set up.

Important Things to Know

  • This is not the same as C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery).
  • This billing feature is only for FedEx Ground commercial addresses.
  • The rate you see when you process the shipment is what it would cost you to ship it. The recipient will be billed the rate they have negotiated directly with FedEx.
  • If you ship a package using Ground Collect to an address that is not authorized for it, your account will be charged the shipping cost.

How to Set Up a New Ground Collect Profile

If you're not shipping all of your packages with FedEx Ground Collect, you'll need to create a new profile and assign it to the shipments you want to bill this way.

  1. Create a New Profile.
  2. Connect your FedEx account to the new profile and warehouse.

How to Identify a Ground Collect Label

When the label is printed, the word "COLLECT" will be visible. The example below shows where to look.
