How to Set Up FedEx Ground Collect

FedEx Ground Collect lets the recipient pay for shipping charges directly. This option is only available to recipients with an authorized FedEx account that has Ground Collect enabled.

Important Things to Know

  • This is not the same as C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery).
  • This billing option is only available for FedEx Ground commercial addresses.
  • The rate shown at shipment processing reflects your cost — the recipient is billed at the rate they negotiated directly with FedEx.

Important

If you ship to an address not authorized for Ground Collect, your account will be charged the shipping cost.

How to Set Up a New Ground Collect Profile

If you're not shipping all packages with FedEx Ground Collect, create a new profile and assign it to the specific shipments you want billed this way.

  1. Create a New Profile.
  2. Connect your FedEx account to the new profile and warehouse.

How to Identify a Ground Collect Label

When printed, the word COLLECT will appear on the label. See the example below.
