The ShipHero Packing App streamlines your packing and shipping workflow using printers connected directly to your computer. It's optimized for single orders and orders picked into a tote using Multi-Item Batch (MIB) picking.
The same process and tools are available from the Shipping.ShipHero.com > Single Orders page; however, the Workstation printer setup is more complex and may require additional troubleshooting if printing errors occur.
Table of Contents

Standard Packing Workflow
Follow these steps to pack an order in the Packing App.
- Open the Order: Scan a Tote Barcode (required for orders picked with Multi-Item Batch) or select the order from the list.
-
Verify Items: When the order opens, the items to be shipped are displayed.
- If Tote QA is enabled: Scan each item barcode to verify it. Scanned items move to the Packed side of the screen.
- If Tote QA is disabled: All picked items are automatically moved to the Packed side of the screen.
Use Unpack to move an item back to the list if a correction is needed. The system warns you if you scan an item that has already reached its required quantity, preventing over-packing.
- Select the Box: Choose a shipping box from the dropdown, scan the Box Barcode, or use automation rules to pre-assign a box. Box dimensions and weight populate automatically.
-
Confirm Package Weight: The system weight updates dynamically as items are packed, using item weights or a connected scale.
For orders too large for a single box, use Add Another Package to split items into separate boxes. See Processing Multi-Package Orders in ShipHero for details.
- Parcel View (Optional): Scan the Parcel View barcode to capture a photo of the box contents. See the ParcelView Package Snapshot Feature guide for details.
-
Print Label: Select or scan a print option to generate the shipping label and invoice. The system confirms once the label is generated.
- Available Print Options: Print invoice & label, Print invoice, Print label.
- Complete the Order: Select or scan the Complete Order barcode. The app returns to the main screen for the next order.
