The ShipHero Packing App is a core feature designed for a seamless packing and shipping process using the printers directly connected to your computer. This workflow is specifically optimized for shipping single orders or orders picked into a tote using Multi-Item Batch (MIB) picking.
The same process and tools are available to use from the Shipping.Shiphero.com > Single Orders page; however, the Workstation printer setup is more complex and often requires more in-depth troubleshooting should printing errors occur.

Navigating the Single Orders Page
The main screen displays all orders available for shipping. Manage your workflow using the filters or a User's default settings.
By default, the list of orders displayed is automatically filtered by the Default Order Status and Order Tags assigned in the Packer's user settings, optimizing the Single Order, Direct Pack, and Pack to Light flows.
Available Filters on the Single Orders Page
| Feature | Description/Action |
| Status Filter | Look at orders in a specific order status. |
| Order Tags | Filter by specific tags assigned to orders. |
| Pickable/Ready to Ship | Toggle between orders that can be picked and are ready to ship. |

| Order Number (Full) | Requires an exact match of the unique order number. |

| Order Number or Name | Performs a partial match on either the order number or the order name. |
| Product Barcode | Matches barcodes associated with individual items in the order. |
Standard Packing Workflow
Follow this process to pack an order within the Packing App.
- Open the Order: To bring up an order, scan a Tote Barcode (required when packing orders picked with Multi-Item Batch), or select the order from the list.
-
Verify Items: When an order is opened, the items needing to be shipped are displayed.
- If Tote QA is enabled: Scan each item barcode to verify it. As you scan, the item moves to the Packed side of the screen.
- If Tote QA is disabled: All picked items are automatically moved to the Packed side of the screen.
If you need to make a change, use Unpack to move an item back to the list. The system provides a warning if you scan an item that has already reached its required amount to prevent over-packing.
- Select the Box: Choose your shipping box from the dropdown, scan the Box Barcode, or pre-assign a box using automation rules. This automatically inputs the package dimensions and associated weight.
-
Confirm Package Weight: The system weight updates dynamically as items are packed, pulling data from item weights or a connected scale.
For orders too large for a single box, use the Add Another Package feature to split items into separate boxes. See Processing Multi-Package Orders in ShipHero for more information.
- Parcel View (Optional): Scan the Parcel View barcode to capture a photo of the box contents. See the ParcelView Package Snapshot Feature guide for details.
-
Print Label: Select or scan a print option to generate the shipping label and invoice. The system will confirm once the label (e.g., UPS, FedEx) is generated.
- Available Print Options: Print invoice & label, Print invoice, and Print label.
- Complete the Order: To finish, select or scan the Complete Order barcode. The app returns to the main screen for the next tote.
