The Mobile Picking & Packing flow for Freight wholesale orders follows the same scan-and-pack process as Courier orders, with one key difference: inner and outer boxes are optional, and the final container must be a Pallet LPN. A barcode scanner is required to validate locations and inventory.
Before You Begin
- Generate LPNs in advance: Print pallet LPNs (and any box LPNs if using inner or outer boxes) before starting. Generate them from Inventory & Locations > LPNs. See Overview: Managing License Plate Numbers (LPNs) in ShipHero for more information.
- Pallet types: Pallet types (Standard, Euro, Australian, etc.) must be created in Shipping > Boxes before they will appear as options during picking.
- Inventory assignment: Upon completion of picking, all picked inventory will be transferred to the staging location selected in the Picking Plan.
For requirements, order types, and the full wholesale workflow, see Overview: The Wholesale Experience in ShipHero. For the Courier order flow (inner and outer boxes), see How to Pick and Pack a Courier Wholesale Order (Mobile).

How to Start the Mobile Pick and Pack Flow
Navigate to Orders > Wholesale in the ShipHero Mobile App. Select the order from the list — orders are displayed by assignment or because there are locations without an assigned picker.

Picking and Packing a Freight Wholesale Order
The Freight flow uses the same location scanning and item scanning steps as the Courier flow — Steps 1 through 3 in How to Pick and Pack a Courier Wholesale Order (Mobile) apply here without change. The difference begins at packing: instead of assigning inventory to inner and outer boxes, all inventory must ultimately be assigned to a Pallet LPN. Inner and outer boxes are optional when packing cases onto a pallet.
When picking Case UOMs (Master Case or Inner Case), the app will ask whether to pack cases in boxes first or place them directly on the pallet. See Picking Cases or UOM in the Freight Flow below.
Pallet Configuration
After scanning and picking items at a location, you will be prompted to assign inventory to a pallet.
- Scan your pallet LPN and stick it to the pallet.
- Set the Pallet Type (for example, Standard, Euro, Australian). Pallet types must be created in Shipping > Boxes to appear in the list.
| Scan Pallet LPN | Set Pallet Dimensions |

Picking Cases or UOM in the Freight Flow
When picking Case UOMs (Master Case or Inner Case), the app will prompt you to choose how to pack the cases before assigning them to the pallet.
| Option | Example |
|---|---|
|
Option 1: Pack Cases in Boxes Requires scanning a Box LPN and then the Pallet LPN. Use when cases need to be consolidated in a box before going on the pallet. Option 2: Pack Cases Directly on Pallet Skips the Box LPN step and moves directly to the Pallet LPN scan. Use when cases go directly onto the pallet without an intermediate box. |
After completing all locations, the picking summary will show no remaining items. The wholesale order then moves to Packing status. The manager can review all picked and packed inventory and make any necessary modifications from the desktop.
