Operational Considerations for Replenishment
- When you select locations that don't contain enough stock to meet the required quantity, ShipHero displays a warning: "Selected location doesn't meet the required quantity." You can continue if needed.
- When you have multiple source locations to pick from, pick and put away one source location at a time. Use Transfer Locations where possible, then move the stock to pickable areas afterward.
Picking and Putting Away Items During Replenishment
Replenishment is picked and put away one item at a time: pick an item from the source location, put it away at its destination, then repeat for the next item. ShipHero prompts different actions depending on how the product is stored and where you're placing it.
- Tap Start replenishment to view the Replenishment list. ShipHero splits the total replenishment into separate tasks for each source location.
- Select a task from the list, either by scanning the location barcode or tapping its card.
- Pick the item or LPN from the source location. The method ShipHero prompts depends on how product is stored there (see Replenishment Picking Method by Storage Type below).
- Scan or select the destination and put the item away. The method depends on the destination and what you picked (see Replenishment Put-Away Method by Destination below).
- Repeat until all items on the task are picked and put away.
- Review the summary screen, which shows the items already moved.
Replenishment Picking Method by Storage Type
When you select a task, ShipHero checks how the product is stored in that location and prompts the matching pick method:
| How Product Is Stored | What ShipHero Prompts |
|---|---|
| Only loose units of the product | Scan loose units |
| Only LPNs with items of the product | Scan LPN |
| Both loose units and LPNs of the product | Scan Source LPN or loose units |
Replenishment Picking Steps by Method
Once you know which method applies, follow the matching steps to scan the item or LPN you're pulling from the location:
| To Pick an LPN | To Pick from an LPN | To Pick Loose Units |
|---|---|---|
|
Scan the LPN barcode at the source location. When prompted to scan destination, keep "Full LPN" selected. Scan the destination (location or LPN). The app confirms the LPN is fully picked. ShipHero automatically deducts the LPN quantity from the total required for that location. |
Scan the LPN barcode at the source location. When prompted to scan destination, select Break out LPN. Scan the destination (location or LPN). On the Scan loose units screen, scan the SKU barcode for each item picked from the LPN. |
Scan the SKU barcode. On the Scan loose units screen, scan the SKU barcode for each item until the "Picked" count matches your physical count. |
Replenishment Put-Away Method by Destination
After you pick loose units, an LPN, or items from an LPN, ShipHero prompts you to scan or select the destination. Which option to choose depends on the destination type and what you picked:
| Destination | What You Picked | How to Put It Away |
|---|---|---|
| A location | Full LPN | Scan the destination location barcode, then choose Full LPN to move the LPN to that location. |
| A location | Loose units, or a broken-out LPN | Scan the destination location barcode, choose Break out LPN, then scan or enter the quantity to place as loose units. |
| Another LPN | Full LPN | Scan the destination LPN barcode, then choose Full LPN to nest the LPN onto it. |
| Another LPN | Loose units, or a broken-out LPN | Scan the destination LPN barcode, choose Break out LPN, then scan or enter the quantity to transfer to the destination LPN. |
| Select item; click Start replenishment | Select task from list | Scan Source | Replenishing loose items from location | Replenishing a full LPN | Summary |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Complete the Replenishment Job
- After you put away all units and LPNs from the location, the app returns you to the Replenishment list with the completed task removed.
- Select the next remaining task.
- Repeat the picking and put-away steps for all remaining tasks.
- When the list is empty, the app returns you to the main Replenishment report. The SKU no longer appears on the report once its requirements are met.
