How to Receive Inbound Shipments to a Location in ShipHero

The location receiving flow in ShipHero assigns scanned inventory directly to a warehouse location — no LPN is required. Use this flow when your account is not configured for LPN tracking.

Before You Begin

Mobile Receiving must be enabled on your account. You must also have an inbound shipment created before starting — see How to Create an Inbound Shipment in ShipHero Mobile.

Important

LPN receiving, duplicate LPN, and pallet nesting tools are not available in the location receiving flow. These tools are only available when receiving to LPNs.

Enable Location Receiving in ShipHero

To enable receive to location, make sure the Receive to LPNs option is unchecked on the Inbound Settings page.

Mobile Receiving Best Practices

  • Use non-pickable locations for receiving.
  • If multiple users are receiving at the same time, use My Work to view your own progress and All Inbound to view everyone's.
  • Receive multiple POs on the same inbound. For 3PL accounts, all selected POs must belong to the same client.

How to Receive Inventory to a Location in ShipHero

On the inbound screen you will see the PO number, client name, and expected quantity versus quantity received so far.

  1. Scan the receiving location — this can be a staging area, receiving zone, or dock door.
  2. Confirm the location.

Important

  • All items received will be assigned to this location unless it is updated.
  • Update the location at any time by tapping the location indicator and scanning a new location.
  1. Scan the product barcode or tap the item manually. Each scan counts as one unit.
  2. Once all items are scanned, scan the receiving location. ShipHero assigns the scanned quantity to that location.
  3. Repeat the item and location scans until all items are received.
  4. Review the receiving summary.
  5. Tap Mark as Complete.
  6. Confirm the closure.

Tap Receiving Summary during receiving to verify the following details for each item:

  • SKU
  • Quantity
  • Location
