How to Use Putaway V2 with LPN Support in ShipHero Mobile

Putaway V2 is ShipHero Mobile's tool for moving received stock from receiving or staging into storage locations, with full support for scanning and moving LPNs (License Plate Numbers) as single units. Use it for complex moves, such as splitting a pallet across multiple bins or handling mixed units of measure.

Putaway V2 Key Benefits

Putaway V2 offers three main advantages over manual putaway:

• Consolidates stock and maximizes space: Locate existing product bins to prevent items from being scattered, and quickly identify empty or available locations.
• Improves accuracy: Real-time logging keeps "Available to Sell" counts precise.

• Direct replenishment: Identify items flagged with the Replen tag (ShipHero's flag for items that need restocking) to replenish pickable locations before adding new inventory to overstock locations.

  Important

  LPNs can only be added to pickable locations if your account is using the Multi-Item Batch Picking V2 Beta. Contact your CSM or ShipHero support to have it enabled for your account.

Key Enhancements in Putaway V2

1. LPN Support and Nesting
Putaway V2 introduces comprehensive License Plate Number (LPN) support. This allows operators to scan a single barcode to move an entire pallet or container.

• LPN Nesting: Move multiple sub-containers within a larger pallet as a single unit.
• LPN Unpacking: Unlike previous versions, you can unpack specific items from an LPN directly during the putaway process.

2. Specialized Handling and Unit of Measure (UOM) Support
Managing different units, such as individual items versus cases, is streamlined in Putaway V2.

• Dedicated UOM screen: A specific interface handles various units of measure to reduce quantity errors.
• Unique ID filtering: Putaway V2 uses unique IDs to distinguish between different batches of the same SKU across multiple locations.

3. Real-Time Visibility
Putaway V2 provides immediate feedback on task progress.

• Completion screens: A dedicated screen confirms all items were moved correctly upon task completion.

Building Your Putaway V2 List (Draft Mode)

Before moving physical stock, create a Draft List. This acts as your digital manifest of items that require a new location.

1. Navigate to the Products > Putaway screen in the ShipHero Mobile App.

2. Scan one of the following:

   Method	Result	Additional Notes/Limitations
   Scan an Item or Case	Putaway V2 automatically goes into SKU-Filtered mode, and shows only locations containing that SKU. Select the source location and confirm the quantity that needs to be moved.	Single SKU per list. Single origin location per list.
   Scan a Location	All items and LPNs in that location are automatically added to the Putaway list.	Multiple locations can be added to a list.
   Scan an LPN	The LPN is added to the Putaway list and the assigned location of the LPN is displayed.	Multiple LPNs can be added to a list.

3. Repeat until your draft list is complete. Then select Start Putaway to save your Putaway list.

Removing an Item or LPN from a Putaway V2 Draft List

To remove an LPN or item from the Putaway list, tap the card and select remove at the top right corner.

Executing the Putaway V2 Transfer (In Progress)

Once your list is complete, select Start Putaway. ShipHero locks the list, and you can begin the physical movement of stock.

Step-by-Step: Putaway V2 Loose Stock (Individual SKUs)

1. Select the item: Tap or scan the item on the putaway list to move.

2. Select the destination: Scan or select an empty bin or existing location for the product.

   Filter the list by Pickable or Sellable status, or by Location Type. The Location Type filter shows only locations of a selected type, such as Bin, Pallet, Transfer, Staging, Damage, Receiving, or another type configured for your warehouse, and it works with both Pickable and Not Pickable locations. Use it to find the right destination faster and reduce scrolling when a warehouse has many locations.

3. Confirm quantity: Scan the items as you place them in the bin, enter the quantity manually, or select Put away all units to move the full amount.
4. Save and sync: Select Complete to save the move. ShipHero updates the inventory logs in real time. A green check indicates the task is complete; an orange check indicates a partial movement.

Step-by-Step: Putaway V2 LPNs

When you use Putaway V2 with LPNs, you have several options for completing the inventory move.

1. Scan the LPN barcode or tap the LPN card to start its putaway. The app prompts you to Scan Destination for the LPN.
2. Go to the destination location or LPN for the transfer.
3. Choose one of the following methods to transfer the inventory or LPN:
   • Method 1: Move an Entire LPN to a Destination Location
   • Method 2: Unpack Loose Items in the LPN at a Destination Location
   • Method 3: Nest an Entire LPN in a Destination LPN
   • Method 4: Transfer Loose Items from an LPN to a Destination LPN

Method 1: Move an Entire LPN to a Destination Location

1. Leave "Full LPN" (default) selected and scan the Destination Location barcode.
2. The Putaway summary tab shows the LPN moved to its new location.

Method 2: Unpack Loose Items in the LPN at a Destination Location

1. Switch to "Some Items" and scan the Destination Location barcode.
2. Continue scanning the item's SKU barcode to set how many units of that SKU to unpack from the LPN.
   • You can also set the amount manually by tapping Enter manually at the bottom.
   • To unpack all units of the SKU from the LPN, tap Put away all units at the bottom.
3. The Putaway summary tab shows the SKU unpacked from the LPN to its new location.

Method 3: Nest an Entire LPN in a Destination LPN

1. Leave "Full LPN" (default) selected and scan the Destination LPN barcode.
2. The Putaway summary tab shows the LPN nested into the destination LPN.

Method 4: Transfer Loose Items from an LPN to a Destination LPN

1. Switch to "Some Items" and scan the Destination LPN barcode.
2. Continue scanning the item's SKU barcode to set how many units of that SKU to transfer from the LPN.
   • You can also set the amount manually by tapping Enter manually at the bottom.
   • To transfer all units of the SKU from the LPN, tap Put away all units at the bottom.
3. The Putaway summary tab shows the SKU transferred from the LPN to the destination LPN.

Completing Your Putaway V2 List

Once all tasks on your list are complete, the app displays a "Ta-da, all done!" confirmation screen.

From here, select View putaway summary to review the movements you just completed, or select Create a new putaway list to begin another task.
