Return statuses identify which stage of the returns process an RMA is in. ShipHero includes three default statuses and allows you to create custom statuses for more granular workflows.

Default Return Statuses
These are the return statuses available by default in ShipHero.
| Return Status | Definition |
|---|---|
| Pending | Open RMAs that have not yet been processed. |
| Warehouse Complete | Inventory has been received at the warehouse; awaiting a support action (e.g., issuing refund or store credit). |
| Complete | Fully processed; no further action required. |
How to Create a Custom Return Status
Create custom return statuses if your workflow requires additional steps beyond the defaults — for example, a washing and QA process before inventory is restocked.
- Go to the Returns > Statuses page.
- Click Add Status and type the name of the new return status.
- Click Save.
