A License Plate Number (LPN) is a barcode ShipHero assigns to a physical container, such as a box or pallet, so your warehouse can track everything inside it as one unit instead of tracking each item separately. Use LPNs when you need to move, store, or pick a group of items together, from receiving a pallet to transferring stock between warehouses.
Before You Begin
- Activation required: Contact ShipHero Support to have LPNs enabled on your account.
- Required user role permissions: Users need License Plate Numbers permissions enabled to access the LPN page.

Where LPN Inventory Can Be Stored in ShipHero
By default, LPN inventory is stored in non-pickable locations such as overstock or staging. To make that inventory available for standard order picking, unpack the LPN into a pickable location. See How to Unpack Items from an LPN Using ShipHero Mobile.
LPNs can be added to pickable locations when your account is using the updated Multi-Item Batch (MIB) picking flow, which supports picking directly from LPNs. This flow is in beta. Contact ShipHero Support to have it enabled. See Overview: NEW Mobile Picking Interface and Workflows (Beta).
